Hi Guru's
Is is possible to run an external rule that exists in my sheet metal part file? The external rule in the file flattens the sheet metal part and then creates a dxf file which is then saved into a Temp folder. Is it possible to have this rule triggered to run when the file state is changed to "Released" in Vault? By the way, I am currently running Inventor and vault professional 2021.

One of the key learnings is:
"Learn how to solve automation tasks by running iLogic rules as custom Jobs in Vault Job Processor."
Exporting a sheet metal part using an iLogic rule is not that difficult.
You can run custom jobs using your lifecycle settings. For example, if you change the status to released 😉

You will need to create a new jobprocess for the Vault jobserver for this.
This job can than be added to the action to take place when the file is released.
I have created similar jobproces fo creating partslist exports in/to Excel, in a _Xls folder of the project in Vault.
