Hi All,

A bit late but happy new year to you all.

I'm new to iLogic and are after some help or advice on writing codes in ilogic.

I work for a steel fabrication company and are after ways to increase productivity of detail drawings with our products.

I'm after some ilogic code for automatic dimension creation upon creating a base view in a drawing sheet along with automatic automated centrelines being added at the same time. please see attached photo showing the kind of dimensions and centrelines i intend to show if possible.

Please also find attached the ilogic form and parameters i've managed to create the drive the part.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Automatic dimensioning isn't nearly as easy as you think.

What if there are 2+ dims along one edge?

What offset?

Where do you want the dim located?

How do you choose what edges to actually select, and how do you program this?

A way easier start is to use templates that are properly dimensioned, or to get your guys to model as they would dimension and pull model sketches into the drawing.

Hi Boggle88,

Have a look at this link. There is some information concerning automating drawing dimensions in this PDF.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
