The best overview that exists for what's new in the API for Inventor 2017 is the "What's New in the Inventor 2017 API" topic in the API help. It has an overview list of the bigger additions and then has a detailed list of every change. If you click on the "Sample Programs" folder in the table of contents it will display a page that lists every sample and new samples for that release will have a red "New" beside them. There aren't too many new samples in this release but there are a few.
Is there any place to view this outside of the file downloaded with the 2017 version? I really wanna get a head start on planning my macros.
I've uploaded the help chm file and you can download it here: https://autodesk.box.com/s/r8rauy3ybgjjj52m1arj9y2rw3hl120g
