Is it possible to use ilogic to edit the iproperties of a drawing without having to open the drawing?

After a bit more searching I’m not sure it’s possible to edit a closed file using iLogic, but files can be opened as ‘invisible’.

Is it possible to edit the property of an invisible idw using iLogic?

Guessing the rule would be running from a part file, only being used to house the code.

No coding needed:

In Windows explorer you can do that directly!

Thanks for the reply, what I’m hoping for is to read & write drawings iproperties to excel cells without opening the drawing ( or opening & closing the drawing overnight as a batch operation).

Seeing a set of drawing iproperties listed would also be useful for checking.

Hi @andrew_canfield ,

Yes that is possible with a stand alone app and using Apprentice server.

What properties do you want to update?

Can you give me a list of them?

I could write a small app for you if you prefer?

Many Thanks - the offer is very generous however I wouldn't like to use up your time unnecessarily.

The question posted here was what I felt was the stumbling block in a much grander project - (I reworded & reposted because too much waffle in a post tends to get passed over - understandably).

The post I'm referring to is here:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-customization/ilogic-filename-amp-iproperty-engine-create-ed...

Using iLogic may be a bit clunky but I figured I have the steps mapped out - I need to do some more thinking.

This is something I've attempted before but hit a problem using Visual Studio ..
