How do i get my finishes to look the same in .iam and .ipt files?

Hi Everyone,

I was curious if anyone know how to keep the detail drawing finishes the same when inserted into the assembly.  My .ipt finishes look completely different when inserted into a .iam.  I must have changed some options and not sure what I did but the reflections are too intense in the assembly.

Thanks for help with this!!

Hi,

Don't exactly get what you mean.
Could you please give some more details?

Regards,

what do you mean by detail? is that the part?

you can set colors in many places.

if the part is in an assembly, you can change the color

1: in the assembly (just select it and change the color)

2: in the part (edit it)

I think you did the first.

please share the assembly with the part....

If this answers your question then please select "Accept as Solution"

Succes on your project, and have a nice day

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the replies they always help and get me thinking.

Ok the problem was I had the lighting default different in .ipt files and .iam files.

In the ipt file the lighting was default to grey room.

In the iam file the lighting was default to two lights.

If these are set differently you can get a completely different look with same materials.

Thanks again!!

Finally, I figured out the difference between .iam and .ipt file.
