Create drawing list from top level assembly

Hi,

I would like to create a drawing list from a top level assembly in Excel.

The drawing list must contain the following:
- Part number
- Description
- Total quantity of the parts / sub assemblies / assemblies

I hope someone can help me to solve this problem. It would save me a lot of time because I have to make the drawing list now by hand. I need to count all by hand an it is just waiting for mistakes.

I need some time for this, but i will ask again.

Are you sure that you are having all related files locally on your machine?

Otherwise inventor is not able to find the related drawing files.

If you are always sure of having all files locally, then this idea may work.

Otherwise not! please take that into consideration.

As already told the method in vault is the easiest and the most secure way of doing this.

The method you should use is:

Loop through the BOM

and take a look with "WhereUsed" in inventor. If this is a dwg file than list it...
