Convert INVENTOR.dwg, not Acad.dwg to .idw from task scheduler

Greetings All,

After 6 months I have FINALLY convinced my boss that our company will use the .idw format.

We have about 5 years of current drawings that I would like to change from inventor .dwg to .idw.

Doing a "FILE" "Save-As" work great for 1 file, but I have 10,000 files.

Using task scheduler I only see options to import an Acad.dwg to .idw, which does not do what I want.

I want Inventor.dwg files Saved As Inventor.idw.

Is anyone aware of this feature from task scheduler or have any suggestions?

Maybe VBA, maybe iLogic, not really sure what road to take.

Seems like task scheduler should have this feature, I simply don't see it.

-thanks

@ferrisb

As far as I know, under Inventor task scheduler you want to use the Import task to do this..

Thanks Mark.

I also saw that suggestion in a previous post from January, but I believe that is incorrect.

Task Scheduler appears to ONLY let you import an AutoCAD .dgw, not an Inventor .dwg.idw.  (which now makes sense to me why that option is located under import)

I want the .dwg.idw converted to a .idw (Wanting the result to be the same as a save as of my .dwg.idw to a .idw. from Inventor)

you can create your custom task.

but I need to check how I did that in the past.

It is not that complicated but you need to know a little about VB.net or equal.

There must be something available in the help of the tasksheduler of Autodesk.

maybe it is still easier to have a little simple program to do it for those 10000 files!

I will come back to it soon.

Bump, anyone done this?

I have DWG files with corruptions and going from DWG-IDW-DWG strips the embedded junk and fixes them. It would be nice to do this via task scheduler.
