Inventor Nastran 2022.0 list of changes

Inventor Nastran 2022.0 has been released. This is my list of changes and explanation, taken from the What's New, Release Notes, and other issues addressed by development for the Inventor Nastran interface and the Nastran solver. (Sorry for being so late with this list.)

Loads applied to faces that are also define in contact were dropped from the analysis. See Incorrect results when contact and parabolic elements are used in Inventor Nastran.

Units are shown for the results of an Explicit analysis. (For older versions of Nastran, use FNO Reader to change the FNO file to make the units appear.)

Improved meshing of models that failed to mesh in 2021.2.

Support for the new “Model State” introduced into Inventor. Allows users to define multiple states or versions of the model in one file. (Level of Detail from previous versions of the Inventor model will be migrated to the new Model State.) However, be aware of Nastran input lost when using Model State in Inventor 2022.

Correct issue in an explicit quasi-static analysis that would cause a crash when outputting Force results.

Corrected issue in an explicit quasi-static analysis that when using element deletion. The 2021.2 analysis could crash or complete but give results of 0.

Corrected the penetration type written to the Nastran file when using offset bonded surface-to-surface contact. See Results using offset bonded contact may change in Inventor Nastran 2021.

The Parameter NCONTACTGEOMITER can now be changed. (This controls what the solver does when the contact nodes are penetrating at time 0.)

Contact forces are output by default for an explicit dynamics analysis.

Corrected the XY Plot of the fatigue material properties S-N curve. (Previous versions showed the wrong point (Ne, Se) for the endurance limit.)

In Explicit analysis (Dynamic and Quasi-Static), added the following materials:

·         Hyperelastic

·         Drucker-Prager criterion for nonlinear plastic materials.

·         Brittle

Corrected output of reaction forces in a shock/response spectrum analysis. The contour plot may have shown the reaction forces at the wrong nodes.

Corrected issue in Frequency Response which caused displacements to appear only at the nodes with a load.

14

Added commands in iLogic to delete loads and constraints.
