Add thread to the Measure tool

We typically add threaded features to our imported components, and custom parts. I think it would be very useful to see the measure tool show the thread call out for a hole. I find myself digging levels in to see what the hole actually is.

I have got a simple request to Inventor Team. Isn't it possible threaded holes due to thread diameter with the measuring tool to identify? I think that it will be a usefull function.

Hi Heider,

Not saying being able to find the threadsize is not usefull, but untill autodesk implements it, I might have tip for you

Under tools/application options/parts you can select "Display extended information after feature node name in browser".

This will display extra information in your model browser about all features. If you select the feature priority and "find in browser" you can find all the information about the feature.

hi Luné,

thank you very much for your help! I am using this function already. But if I am checking size of geometry while I am using measurement in Assembly with than more than 1000 parts. For that reason I am looking for efficient solution in order to save time.

In the assembly ambient, it would be very useful if when I select the "measure" command and the cursor touches a threaded hole a message appeared with the indications of the hole itself: whether metric or gas and with diameter and thread pitch.
It should already be like this, but it isn’t; and every time you have to open the part and go and see the features you need.
