dear all,

i have a task to convert a frame generator part from solid works part to inventor 

i have a solid works part , i facing to configure in inventor as similar to solid works part solid works model imagesolid works model imagesketch for frame generation for inventorsketch for frame generation for inventortable valves , frame member size given starting of column starts with w5 or w6table valves , frame member size given starting of column starts with w5 or w6

So are you considering this as your frame skeleton that will be inserted into an assembly and then frame members are added?

 

If you're actually using Inventor Frame Generator it can't be based on an iassembly   Each model must be separate.

Mark is correct.  The problem is, the way FG works is it uses a part sketch to create the frame members, miters and trims.  If you try and remove any part of it through iassemblies, the whole FG assembly will fail.  The closest you can come to what you are describing is to have the complete FG assembly turned on or off in an upper level assembly.

Three separate FG models.  That is the safest best method.  FG is a great tool, but it can be complicated.  Especially when it comes to the naming of the components and folder structure.
