FRONT VIEW

Hi Everyone,

I was curious, is there a way to set the cube views at initial sketch creation so I don't have to change it every time I start a drawing.  I always start in plan view but inventor calls it the front.  When looking down the Z axis you are looking from the top or the bottom not the front.

I know this is trivial but I was thinking about it this morning.

I think it's just because Inventor will use the Y-axis as the up direction by default.

If you want to consistently use the z-axis as up, you can open up your template, re-align the viewcube by setting "Current View As" and changing which way the front face is so that z points up.

I'd also change the home view too, otherwise it'll stay as it was before.

Another way is to orient the model the way you want and then right mouse click and select create drawing.
