How to bend this model in sheet metal

Hello!

I hope you guys can help me with this part i'm trying to create in inventor.

I tried everything but i can't get it done.

Can anyone explain me how to bend this part in a sheet metal?

The part will be very hard to model directly in Inventor because it is a deformation part.  The 90 degree bent part is not an issue but since one leg is bend along its edges, it forms a deformation at the intersection of the bend.  Inventor does not have any functions that will handle this space.  It can only be estimated with a lot of experimentation.

That is my opinion.

unfortunately, it not all are bend Plate

1. L bend it OK

2. it must be punch process

3. Blank Size must be rectagular Plate 125mmxWidth, after L Bend, then Puch. i cant be flatten again in Inventor sheet metal. if can flatten blank size may not rectangular again.

If you punch in a sheet metal, it goes all the way through, right?

I don't understand how I can punch this model.

punch process i mean is punch with tool like dies. this my example abount punch tool from my work, it punch at the edge of plate, the result can same with you picture.

@Anonymous that can be made with Inventor but using the sheet metal bend tools for that will not provide a flat pattern.

Quick example using extrude and loft.

The reason for this is that in the real world you would be making two mating dies and sandwiching the metal between.

You could hang the piece off the side of the machine and bend, but that isn't really best practice in my opinion.

How are you planning on making this in real life?

I punched it using an iFeature.

It costed some time but I have it :D.
