How to add new column from "Frame Generator Content center Family Table" to "part list on idw"

Hello,

I want to add a new column into the parts list of a drawing.

First I edit the family table (see screenshot, also attached as file) and add the value "Flach". But the cells in the parts list is empty.Screenshot 2023-07-21 091539.png

I had found this

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/content-center-family-table-to-part-list/m-p/3634862#M...

But it does not work.

Hi,

Looking at you screen shots, it's a bit hard to see what's going on, but I think that you need to create the custom property 'Flach' in the column that you've created to add it to the parts.

You can than create a column in your parts list using the 'New Property' butto, give that column tha same name as your custon iProperty that you created earlier, and add it to you parts list.

Hi you can also download the screenshot.

I am in the assambyl of the frame. There to open the first window one goes to Editor, then the Content Center opens. There you right mouse click on the frame and then family table.

Can you maybe take some screenshots ? Thanks

Okay, got thebetter image.

First off,,create your custom column in your family, and the map the column to the custom property of you own choosing.

Once you've done that, all of your frame generator parts will have your custom property in them. You may need to refesh any existing ones though.

You'll them need to create a parts list coulmn to access your custom property.

Open the parts list style editor, and select the style you want to add your column to.

Pick the Column Chooser.

Select New Property.

Enter your property name in the window. This should match the name of the custom property you created in you family table earlier.

Now when you add you parts list, the custom property should come through.

It does not work. Still the cells in the part list on the idw are empty.

First I went into the iam. There I clicked on Manage-> Editor, then riht mouse click on the frame -> Familytable

I made a new column, and

Then I went into the template idw. and there I opened the StyleEditor. Like you have shown on your screenshots. So I wrote Q22 under point 3 on your last image.

I think the issue you're having is the way that the frame generator creates the parts. They become dis-assocaited from the family and are treated as distinct parts.

If you create a new test frame (or replace a member with a different size), with your newly created properties, do they come through? Alternatively, if you create a custom iProperty Q22 in one of your existing parts, does it appear on your parts list?

If I write something into a cell of a column that exists, it goes through, for example I can change the matrial in the material column. But if I add e new column, it does not go through.

If you open the iProperties of one of the frame members, does it show your custom iProperty?

The problem may be simply that the structural shape template in the Content Center doesn't have your custom iProperty included.  That is, creating the column in the Family table does not create the iProperty in the template.  If this is the case, then it is a simple fix.

Now it works well. I think after making the column and editing the properties you have to delete and make new frames.
