Create Shared-View, Report-to-Autodesk Error Message

I've been using Shared Views extensively. Our Marketing VP likes them. I'm finishing up a display project in Inventor. and the Shared views have suddenly failed to complete. I don't know how to diagnose the issue. I updated my Inventor yesterday, no change in behavior.

As the dialog runs and finishes, I get the message "An unknown error occurred, Please try sharing again. If this error please report it to Autodesk."

I hit the button to report it to Autodesk and it just - dumps me into the forums, it doesn't have me fill out a form like other problems do.

I've attached a version of the error message from Inventor and from Vault.

Any help please?

Signing out and back in with your Autodesk credentials may be a solution, according to another user who received the same type of error:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/shared-views-service-error/m-p/8973456/highlight/true#...

On another similar thread, someone fixed their issue after changing the folder AppData in C:\Users\Public to 'visible'.

I looked at both those links. Shared View does work, even on a subassembly that goes into the top assembly. I think one of my beams levels has a corruption. In AutoCAD I'd run an Audit command.

Here is part that works. It is for a trade show.

In Inventor you can use a hidden tool to check for corrupt files, just press CTRL + F7 and a dialog pops with the report.

Most of my levels in the affected assembly publish OK. This beam level kicks out an error. It does publish by itself.

I get this error generated though.

Can you try and publish a DWF file inside of Inventor from the assembly that can't publish a Shared View?

Are you able to share the dataset here with File\Save As\Pack and Go?

Hi Folks,

I am moving the thread to Inventor forum. This should not be Vault related. Based on the description, It is likely related the process of publishing the assembly at a particular level. There is some sort of corruption. Try doing Rebuild All (Manage -> Rebuild All) and then publish. Does it work better?

Many thanks!

Thanks Irvin!,

That did work. Also, after I did that, The Shared View worked for the project. It's funny as this was the only project I could not get to publish.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

@johnsonshiue , - thanks for moving this to the correct Forum.   🙂
