Loft surface across multiple splines failing

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have being trying to create a surface to follow the form of the bottom of a foot by creating a number of splines spaced at intervals and then creating a loft surface across them. in more simple models (old File) this has worked however in my latest model inventor starts loading when i click OK but never finishes and will crash if i try to stop the procedure. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me in this matter and have attached the old file (the working one) and the new file (the broken one) below. thanksNew File.pngOld File.png

I have not had a chance to try this, but the way I look at your curves maybe you can use those as rails instead. They have more characteristics of rails than sections, so you could try connecting their end points to establish a couple of sections on each end, then select all projected splines as rails.

EDIT: when trying to explore solutions this file keeps crashing Inventor for me. I do not think we can work with it safely without disassociating (removing) the composite from the curves that matter for the loft.

Hi! I have to say Inventor isn't the right tool to design such model. All dimensions in Inventor geometry should be measurable, not just an arbitrary value. Also, it does not have extensive workflows handling mesh geometry. I suggest you look into Fusion 360 and recreate the geometry there (Mesh Design).

Many thanks!
