Everyone,

I wanted to point out that I get a lot of requests asking if emails about Autodesk Audits are real.  I want inform you that they are indeed real.  If you get an email that looks like the following example, you should comply:

From: <noreply_software-review@autodesk.com>
Subject: [Request Notification] Your Autodesk Software Review

Dear Autodesk Customer,

As part of Autodesk's on-going Software Asset Management Program, your company has been selected to undergo a required software compliance audit. This process will help ensure your organization's installation and use of Autodesk products and services is compliant with applicable licensing agreements,

Please perform an inventory of your deployed Autodesk software and provide the required information in the Autodesk Software License Review Portal within the next 15 days.

The portal is located at https://software-review.autodesk.com/. Your company's unique registration code is 12345A-12BDC3-E123456789

A user Guide, FAQs, and other resources are available on the portal to guide your company through this process.

If you have any issues with the portal, please contact an Autodesk Software Asset Management Consultant at 1-833-588-9571.

Autodesk would like to thank you for your continued business. We value our partnership and believe that our joint attention to software compliance will strengthen this relationship going forward.

Autodesk will audit you based on the Software License Agreement.  You should familiarize yourself with the Software License Agreement of the product line that you are currently using.  I recommend that you do a self-audit to ensure your compliance before you receive this notice.  If you have any questions, you may wish to contact your VAR to see if they offer a Software Asset Management service to ensure that you are within compliance before a potential audit.  Once you have received this email, however, you must comply within the specified timeframe and you will no longer be eligible for a SAM audit internally by your VAR.

You can always verify if a link is real with a mouse-over hover.  It will show you where the real link is going.  In this example below, the link is indeed going to the Autodesk audit site where you will put in your unique code to start the process.  If you have any questions, please contact an Autodesk Software Asset Management Consultant at 1-833-588-9571.

I have received this email for an audit from Autoesk - is it legitimate?  The Link is not like you have stated above.

We recently sent you an email requesting a compliance review of Cervis Inc.’s Autodesk products and services. We made this request pursuant to the applicable terms of use.

We asked that you provide information about your organization’s product usage within 15 days. If you have not yet done so, please use our software compliance review portal to collect and upload the requested information.

How to use the software compliance review portal:

  • Click Begin the software compliance review process to get started. The interactive screens will step you through the process of collecting and submitting a required inventory of your product usage.
  • Click Software compliance review FAQ to get answers to your questions about the process.
  • If you still need help, click Need more assistance to contact us or call 1-833-588-9571 to speak to or leave a voicemail with a representative.

Note: If you are not the appropriate person in your organization to respond to this request, please forward this email to the proper individual.

You may receive more emails from Autodesk to remind you of this compliance request. Please disregard them if you have submitted your inventory.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We value our partnership and believe that joint attention to compliance will strengthen this relationship.

Sincerely yours,

@TravisNaveHi, we are currently undergoing an audit, and they have requested us to run the AIT ScanWin tool. After scanning, all of the previously downloaded Autodesk software appears on the list of the exported Excel inventory file. My issue is that I have attempted to uninstall them, thinking it would clear them out and prevent them from being captured. Unfortunately, I was wrong; they can still be captured even after clearing the registry and uninstalling. Would this pose an issue with the auditor, considering that the Autodesk software is still on my PC and has not been used? I only used the Revit trial, and we have a standalone single-user version of AutoCAD 2022 installed on my PC.

As I said in the other thread, you could try my license reset tool and see if they show up there.

If not, but they still show in the audit software, then there might be some more registry surgery that needs to be done.
