Maya 2016 Installation Error 1603

Hi,

I'm trying to install Maya 2016 on my Windows 10 pc and am getting the error message "Installation complete. Some products failed to install".

The products that are failing to install are:

• Maya 2016
• DirectConnect 2016
• Autodesk Application Manager

In the error logs I get this error multiple times for both Maya and DirectConnect:

I uninstalled all versions of Visual C++ 2005 on my computer and the installation still does not work.

I then tried AIDA, the Autodesk Installation Diagnosis Assistant, to see if it could find anything and it too ran into an error when it tried to run:

Next, I emptied my %temp% folder, turned off my uac, and used the Maya 2016 download from the Virtual Agent. My installation still failed.

Welcome to the community... 

THis is a known issue please see this article.  Then try your install again.

 The message you got using the AIDA interface..  Delete as many files in your user's temp folder which is normally located here C:\users\<username>\appdata\local\temp.   Appdata is a hidden folder so you may need to adjust your viewing settings.

Thanks for the reply. I have already tried the solutions listed in that article, they do not work for me.

As you can see in this screenshot I have uninstalled the conflicting version of c++ 2005 listed in my error log:

And I have also emptied my temp folder as you can see in this screenshot:

Try changing the location of your %TEMP% folder to C:\Temp.  It could be a permissions issue.

This allowed me to find a solution! In the process of changing the location of my temp folder I found I had created a temp folder for the ffmpeg program. Once I deleted this folder the script stopped referencing that folder and used the temp folder in appData like it was supposed to. Now I have a successful installation. Thanks guys for your help!
