How do I enter in my serial number that I paid for?

Hello, can an expert familiar with Eagle who works for Eagle please remote into my computer and show me how to install and register this software. All of your online help desk stuff is false and none of the pictures of instructions even come close to matching what software I have. I have legally purchased and downloaded Autodesk_EAGLE_8.3.2_English_Win_64bit.exe (92.8mb) from h***s://manage.autodesk.com and the installer does not at any point ask for my serial number or product ID. When I open "Eagle" from my desktop it does not at any point ask for my serial number or product ID. It just loads to a screen that says I have the "free" version and I am limited. Clicking on the menu File -> License Info does nothing. Clicking on the "Upgrade License" button just loads a website asking me to pay more money. On your Eagle website h***s://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#user-management clicking on "+Add" to add a new user opens up a small window. I fill out this window with my name and email and click on "Save & Continue" just makes the window disappear. I still have 0 Users Added. Refreshing the webpage does not make my user show up.

TL;DR:

  1. During installation, enter a serial number if needed WHERE? There's no option.
  2. Assign users so they can get access. More Help HOW? Your screen just disappears without adding new users?

I've uninstalled & reinstalled dozens of times. None of your tutorials match up with any of the screens I see. Your tutorials for Eagle are for another piece of software called AutoCAD or something??? Your pictures are for AutoCAD.

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

This is a user based forum and we the users don't remote into other user's machines.

Do you have a folder called C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\<Product_Key>_2018.0.0.F  [<Product Key> is the product key of the application you have]?

Update:  Sorry I just noticed you image states 2017..   C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\<Product_Key>_2018.0.0.F  [<Product Key> is the product key of the application you have]

Update:  I guess Eagle doesn't have a product key..  I don't know anything about this product and there's hardly any support request that come in for it.

In this Autodesk Article it just says to log in with your credentials.   Like I said I don't know anything about this product but Just wanted to pass along to make sure the correct credentials associated to your subscription is the same one being used to launch the application.   Sometimes users have different accounts and the correct one is not being used or the actual info has a typo in it.   We have no access to your account so we can't troubleshoot it.  I would also recommend that you chat with an Autodek Agent here about it.

I read that article, and I've chatted with 2 Agents so far. The 2nd Agent remoted into my computer and after 30 minutes gave up and said she would escalate it up to someone else. I didn't get an email about that though so who knows. I only have 1 account with Autodesk that I created today so there's no chance of there being multiple accounts or some sort of account confusion.

Did you just subscribe to this product today?  If so it can take up to 24 hours for your account to sync properly.

Hello @Anonymous,

Sorry for the frustration. It is difficult to know what exactly you are encountering, but if you do not receive a sign-in screen like this. Eagle should also provide this, it is a just sign-in license type. Try a Hard Reset to have this screen appear & create the file described if needed. Also take a look at this >article<.

A Hard Reset seems to only apply to other Autodesk software. For example, I do not have the Help menu as described in the picture, and there is no Flex Windows Service installed on my computer to handle the licensing.

I also followed the instructions on the "Unable to login to Eagle" webpage but in my Windows Registry there are no search results for "autodesk" or "eagle" except for the Uninstall registry area. I followed the remainder of the instructions such as renaming eaglerc.usr and running eaglecon.exe but it had no effect. As soon as I ran eaglecon.exe it automatically logged me into the main Eagle program again.

Hello @Anonymous,

Yes, just tried to figure this out & there is a different method to > reset Eagle licensing<   (similair to the other article)  because it is a web-based sign-in.

Give that a try. I just installed it & received that sign-in above not sure what happened along the way with yours.

As I said in my previous post there are no registry entries for Eagle, Autodesk, or CadSoft...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\EAGLE 8.X.X\subscription

...does not exist

Try to locate the key again send a screenshot if you continue to have an issue.

Go to your Windows start menu & type in the search bar  "regedit" click the regedit.exe

Here's a pic:

Like I said earlier, searching my registry for "autodesk" "eagle" or "cadsoft" returns 0 results except for the 2 results inside \Uninstall\.

The problem has been fixed. I called Autodesk and explained the problem to them, and they had to "re-sync" my account on the backend, and about 5 minutes later my Eagle is now registered properly. I just needed to restart the software and it picked up the new license.

The problem described is precisely the problem I'm experiencing.  It's hard to believe Autodesk can't handle this in a more elegant way.

I'm having the same problem.  I've spent the last hour or two installing, uninstalling, re-installing, trying to get my license to work.  No luck.  So, I called the help line number above, and it's outside of their business hours, so the office is closed.  It's Saturday and I have to wait till Monday to get my license to work????  I'm a consultant trying to get some work done over the weekend and the software I purchased from Autodesk is blocking my ability to get anything done for two days???  Unbelievable!  Poor product licensing and terrible support.  Is there a better way??????????????

It seems that the licence information can be lost in process of upgrading (my 9.0.1 claims to be standard, but 9.1.2 not). With FREE on top of control panel, beware of updating the libraries for a PCB! If the PCB is bigger than allowed for the free licence, your components will be moved away from the board one by one one as a response to any action! There is no other way to stop that process other than killing Eagle via task manager. Like described in the previous posts, have found no way to enter my licence key into 9.1.2.

The solution that worked for me at last was to find and start the exe for 9.0.1 and start update (to 9.1.3) from there. On first start of the new version it offered importing settings from my previous versions. Selected 9.0.1 for importing and thus got my standard back.

I could not simply stick to 9.0.1 because the smaller files created with 9.1.2 were full of errors when opened with 9.0.1.

The amount of problems and frustration related with Autodesk owned Eagle makes me think about jumping to KiCAD...
