The License manager is not functioning or is improperly installed
The License Manager tool can be very helpful when you would like to make an update to your license information for 2017 -2021 versions. For example, you have a Trial version installed and you need to change the license type because you purchased the product after the Trial, you are changing to Subscription licensing or Network Licensing. Or you have received a new serial number for the same product and need to update it.
This tool can also conduct a soft reset of the licensing for a particular product, without having to delete folder contents.
Reset 2017 -2021 Autodesk Products
- At the top-right of the screen select the drop-down
triangle next to the User Name.
- Click “About (Product)” then click “Manage License...” to open the License Manager screen.

3. The License Manager feature will allow you to:
- “Change license type” to pull up the “Let’s Get Started” screen at launch to reselect (Sign In, Serial Number, Network Licensing)
- “>” Drop Down to update your Serial Number & Activate

4. If the above does not resolve the issue try step #8 Hard Reset of 2017 & Newer products
5. The last resort is a Clean Uninstall of the product use MSfixitTool to complete it
Reset 2016 & Older Autodesk product
A Clean Uninstall is required to reset older Autodesk products.
