FlexNet Licensing error:-15,570

I currently have ACAD 2015 license installed, and am trying to add a new service to flexnet for ACAD 2016, and ACAD Map3D 2016.

I ran the setup utilities for 2016, and it shows the LM is already installed, it did not prompt me to upgrade it so I assume last years LM is fine for 2016?

After adding the new service, and attempting to start the service, I get the following error from "perform status enquiry":

--------
Status
--------
Flexible License Manager status on Tue 5/10/2016 12:14

[Detecting lmgrd processes...]
License server status: @cXXXXXXX8
License file(s) on cXXXXXXX8: C:\AutoDeskLicense\ACD2016enlicense.lic:

lmgrd is not running: Cannot connect to license server system.
The license server manager (lmgrd) has not been started yet,
the wrong port@host or license file is being used, or the
port or hostname in the license file has been changed.
Server name: cXXXXXXX8
License path: @cXXXXXXX8;
FlexNet Licensing error:-15,570
For further information, refer to the FlexNet Licensing documentation,
available at "www.flexerasoftware.com".

When I compare the license files of the 2015 version (which is working fine) and the new license file for 2016 I notice that after the server name and MAC in 2015 there is 27003. The 2016 license file doesnt have anything after the MAC...  I tried appending that to my new file but get the same error.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!

James

Yes the license manager for 2015 will work for 2016 license file.   I suggest starting here first and report back on your progress.  @TravisNave anything else to add?

Thanks for the quick reply Mark... Right after posting this, I saw a link to combining license files. So, I just pasted in my new license info to the existing 2015 file as per the instructions, restarted the LM and voila, it's all working now!

Right.  And everything else in the header from the 2015 to 2016 .LIC file matches?

You don't necessarily have to update to the 2016 NLM for the 2016 licenses to work, so long as you are running at least a 11.12.x version it should work.  If the port was set previously to 27003, it may be because there was an initial conflict.

Glad you got up and running!

Also are you on subscription?  Meaning is the 2015 product and 2016 stuff the same?  If so you only need the 2016 information becuase it includes the 2015 stuff as well.   Just check to make sure...

You probably have multiple versions installed. Check the following directories:

Previou Installer would right to:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk Network License Manager\

The newest version installs to:

C:\Autodesk\Autodesk Network License Manager\

You should clean this up if you have multiple versions in different locations. Start by stopping the license server via LMTOOLS, then deleted the old version root folder. Afterwards, you can use the new location where the license manager is installed C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\

Within the new licensing manager folder you should have a folder structure similar to:

  • C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\Logs\
  • C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\License\

And the exe files in the root of \network license manager\

Finally, When configuring the license manager, you can only have one service running using the ADSKFLEX vendor daemon, so make sure you only have one services listed within LMTOOLS. This service should reference your license file, the log file, and the LMGRD.exe file within C:\Autodesk\Network License Manager\

Thanks everyone,

We are a college, using educational licensing. At this time, we are in transition and using both 2015, and 2016 but once we roll out our new images to the labs in September, I will be retiring 2015. I will definitely be referring back to your comments for that process!

Thanks again!!
