Accepted solution

It's explained here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/informed-design-knowledge-center/install-instructions/ta-p/12532748

Note: Due to some technical constraints, our app will not be operational with projects that are currently managed on European data centers, effective immediately.

I love the concept of Informed Design! I would like to emphasize the need for EU-server compatibility though.

Due to this limitation is seems practically impossible to use Informed Design in Europe. Though working on US-based servers won't be a big issue for many clients, it seems that a project simply can't be moved between servers without creating new accounts. (Source) This seems specifically unrealistic since the manufacturer (and the Informed Design tool) won't be involved until a project design is well on its way and already many parties are involved.

Hey @Cursist-101,

Thank you for this feedback.  We are well aware of the need going forward to support EU-based servers.  We recognize the limitations this currently imposes on users and have every intention to address these limitations as well as others as we continuously improve the Informed Design Solution.  We are encouraged by your expression of love for the Informed Design Concept and we hope you will stay tuned and engaged as we build out and mature the solution.  We are just getting started, so please keep the feedback coming so we can be assured we are headed in the right direction.

Is there a timeline or roadmap for supporting Informed Design on EU servers? Having clarity on this would help firms plan effectively for upcoming projects and align with potential future capabilities? Using EU server or US server for next project

@amir_kianfarRLULC ,

Supporting Informed Design on EU servers is definitely on our Roadmap.  I am currently trying to figure out what an MVP (minimum viable solution) for this would look like, so we can provide basic support as soon as possible and then refine and mature in subsequent phases.  Would you be willing to have a call, so I can ask you some questions about specific requirements?  If so, please drop me an email at david.reaume@autodesk.com.

Thanks,

Dave Reaume
