Fusion 360 won't create modelled threads of some sizes

What I noticed is when you try to model a thread using thread tool it fails to generate its helix path when you choose any size less than 6mm, and with 6mm and above it can only succeed with certain designation (for example it works fine with 6x1.0 but fails to generate 6x0.8). Is this a limitation or a bug?

I get the same problem VERY often, only options are: 0.0118", 1", 2", 3" and 4" are the only ones that appear.

(my previous post in this thread seems to have disappered).

Ok, now the "make thread" tool will not work with ANY "ANSI Threads". (exept 0.0118, 1, 2, 3, 4 inch)

No matter what I try; clear user cache, use uninstall cleaner program and reinstall.

Nothing, whatsoever.

Then all of a sudden, it works, some of them, not all different pitches.

Seems if you chose the hole first, then the thread tool, it is more likly to give an error.

Directly after that, it stopped working again.

Is the model to complex?

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting. Our development team is still investigating this issue and I've still been unable to recreate it on my system. Would you mind sharing:

  1. A screencast illustrating the behavior on your end - please show how you are unable to create threads.
  2. Your diagnostic log files.

This information may help us learn more about this behavior and work toward a solution - we appreciate you reaching out.

Here are my Diagnostic logs.

If I just start Fusion 360, the thread tool has all the options for "ANSI Unified Screw Threads".

But as soon as I load the saved model, only 0.0118", 1", 2", 3" and 4" are available.

The model have both "ANSI Unified Screw Threads" and "ISO Metric profile" threads.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting. I had no problems with applying threads in the file you attached.applythreads.gif

Does the original file contain inserted/linked components? If so, you'd need to share a downloadable link of the Fusion design - please do so if you continue to see problems.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for sending the file over. I found that I was again able to create any size of modeled thread in the file, but have passed it along to our development team for further investigation. We appreciate your input on this issue and I'll keep you updated with any new information on this thread.
