Want some more bugs? Just the "morning news" I haven't even had lunch yet...
- Erratic behaviour in drawing sections. The hatching will appear or disappear by just moving the letter beside the section arrow. Also discussed here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/drawing-section-view-will-not-hatch/td-p/9...
- Again help sketches cannot be bound to the geometry in drawing module. Even worse when used in a scaled view the dimensions are wrong. I have to overwrite the actual dimension to get it right. This has two results: A) Great risk of wrong dimensions after model update. B) Tolerance function cannot be used when dimension is manually overwriten. This results in the manual written tolerance looking different than all the others on the drawing (see attached pic).
- No symbol for general surface. The existing symbols cannot be placed "free air". Workaround is a help sketch, just a line to place the symbol. Not catastrophic but annoying.
- No symbol for edges according to ISO 13715. Okay, also not existing in SWX but I use sketch blocks there for easy handling an modification. Currently using pictures(!!!) in Fusion... is there something as sketch blocks that can be used in the drawing module?
- No function to fill the part # from the 3D file in the title block. Again a great risk of expensive mistakes.
- Same with material... why is the material not pulled from 3D-file? Maybe because the material libary is not really useful?
- Why is a new version created everytime I hit the save button??? I guess every professional CAD user automatically saves his work every 10-20min... we all know about that CAD-system tend to crash at the worst time possible 😉 The problem is the amount of versions created. Why not using a check in/check out function like on other PDM systems? Or just ask if a new version should be created (similar to milestones)?
So far for the morning... got to get back wasting time. If you want to have nice laugher today then hit the "Why Fusion 360?" button at the top of this website and check out the claim about 75% reduction of your engineering time 🤣
