I design cookie cutters and I end up chamfering some really awkward angles. I would like to be able to know exactly what angles work so I don't have to waste any time fiddling around when I trace the shape of an image. I trace (make a sketch of) the image, offset the traced image and extrude the profile that is made by the two offset lines. I then chamfer the outside edge of this extrusion. I would suggest being able to select the problematic lines and select a function that translates those lines to the nearest workable angle.

I would like to be able to have piece of steel and export a table that shows the number of slots, holes, and other features. I send tube out for laser cutting and am charged by the number and size of holes. Right now i have to pay someone to run data entry all day. I can set up complicated excel programs to count parameter names on a parameter I/O export but this is very difficult to set up and would take more time then just doing the data entry. Maybe we could export our named sketches to an excel table? For example i could name a sketch 3" Hole then export that? Or i can make a new component for each hole but then i have to joint them to maintain their relationships to the object they are cutting. There must be an easier way.

Hello, I would like to validate the data inserted by user during an onEdit script run. As this seems not to be possible (see this link: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-lifecycle-forum/can-a-validation-be-performed-on-oncreate-or-onedit-scripts/m-p/7736081 ) i kindly ask you to activate the possibility for scripts to follow validation scripts and thus throw the returnValues to the user. This could be implemented by an optional boolean property "follow validation scripts" during Action script execution. Result: An onEdit Script runs automatically a workflow transition "Errorcheck" and this workflow is connected with an validations script which displays the user an Error if the inserted data do not meet the customized validations during the onEdit procedure. Much better would be the possibility to abort the onEdit process in an action script by throwing an error to the user (like the validation scripts). this is based on the practical problem: Connecting several items bi-directional by multi picklists with following cardinality rules: Item A - Item B cardinality: nA:nB with nA: >0 with nB: >= 0 The user should not be able to choose nA = 0 for an Item B, while deleting the connection in Item A (the manual try to delete the connection nA in Item B is catched by the predefined validations of the fields. But the script is possible to ignore this during the onEdit of item A!) If the user tries this in Item A, an alert should pop up and inform the user - even during an onEdit operation I hope my problem and my wishes are understandable. Thanks, Gordon

In most cases, if a user clicks twice on a submit it will create duplicate records. Without creating a script for each workspace to prevent this, why can't Fusion be smart enough to prevent multiple submissions like most modern websites do?

Please make mouse short cuts customizable.... We need to Pan, Zoom, Orbit all on the mouse... Refer to onshape they have this area dialed... I've switched over to fusion and love the features that where not included in other softwares... but This problem is super annoying and would love if it could be changed soon... Thanks -Sam

Being able to use a picklist of a user group would be helpful. That would allow me to set up fields where I can define a group of 5 people rather than having to hunt through the picklist of all users for the 5/100 who I really want to be selectable in a list, especially if users change in that group.

Dear Fusion Lifecycle Team, After mass import our production data into our Items & BOMs WS, our consultant mass released those items to the production (Lifecycle) with a one time script. So far so good, while training our end users we faced the issue that users with READ/WRITE role for that workspace, are able to EDIT the item details of those items. In yesterdays Street Team 1:1 Mentoring, we learned that those production items (per definition in a LOCKED stage) need to have related change order to be effectively not editable anymore. Bottom line: Since our items have been brought to production with a script and not with the change order, the workflow lock in our change order workflow is obviously not triggered. Q: Is there a way to lock the mass imported items, which are in production [rev:A] without running a change order on all of them, which would bring them to production [rev:B] ? When clone and saving and save and new NCR's, you should be able to enter the workflow action before you start a new NCR.

It would be very helpful to have workflow on a revision controlled object. This would enable us to control and track the development of items. Today we create a task in the tasks workspace and link it to the revision controlled item that work needs to be done on. On the change order we then track the progress of the tasks and only allow the CO to progress if all tasks are compete. It would be great to have workflow on the working version that would allow the steps to develope the item to be followed witout having to create a seperate record inorder to track it.

hello, as sometimes we have to have the Workflow Transition to be finished before being able to "play" with item created within Action Script (Add item to BOM etc...), could it be possible to have some step that are acting as robot... it means that it should launch a scipt when this "robot" script is reached... in case of failure, we can either cancel previous Transition or if successfull, force next Transition to go to the next "manual" Step... I would like the ability to update a section with workflow changes using the import section This would be very useful when creating new sections Always there are parts that are in different stages of any workflow and when a new section is created you can import the data, but you are not able to change the workflow by this method. This means in some cases hundreds or thousands of parts need to be done one by one, a very time consuming method

It would be the coolest thing ever to see the rest of the transition properties on the Workflow Summary Panel. When you have 73 transitions like I do It would save a lot of time to be able to see which scripts were tied to each transition, or to make sure that there is a script tied to the transition.

Scenario: create a new workflow state create a transition to the new workflow state delete the transition to the workflow state the workflow state disappears from the editor window create a new workflow state with the same name create a transition to the new workflow state try to transition an object to the new workflow state receive error "<new workflow state> is not the unique short name of a workflow step in the relevant workspace" It appears the original workflow state was orphaned (still existed but unable to access in the workflow editor) when the transition to it was deleted. The only workaround I could find was to delete the workspace and start over again.

The default text box in the initial view should be customizable or auto size to the text in it. I realize you can hover over it and see the fill value but it would be handy to see the whole thing to start

I'm looking for a way to add information after a certain transition point. So far I have not seen how this can be done. Here is my example: Using Basic workspace with workflow: Customer enters a test request with all their information. They then submit the request so that its now in our hands where we review the submission. If everything seems in order, we give the test request a testing date, a test personnel is assigned and the customer will be able to see our (test labs) inputs. (there is more to this but for clarity I chose only two items to add after the submission transition. Not looking to make automated with scripts.

If I'm in a workspace with a PM tab and I want to link to a task and create that task on the fly I want to be able to choose a "like" task and clone it in one shot. To clarify, if you are in a PM tab and you want to add/create a new item/tasks you will not be able to clone a task. You will have to leave the workspace to do that. I realize I can clone a task from an existing task but if I want to link that to a workspace PM tab I have to go to the wirkspace and remember what the tasks I cloned and then add it. This is OK for a few tasks but I have projects that have, literally, hundreds os tasks to assign. It's easier for me to do that in the context of a PM tab and create them on the fly. If there is an existing way to do this please let me know.

Hello Team, We should be able to hide the notes on the Workflow editor in order for them to be visible only to admins or super users. Currently notes are being displayed to everybody and also appearing on the online view when we have to perform an workflow step advancement. Thanks NPI ADMIN

When creating a project that with multiple levels of tasks and subprojects I want to be able to get a chart for labor hours projected/need. I realize that this currently can be done using multiple apps combined but I would prefer a way to do this simply with a purpose built app or report. I say this because in Excel I was able to build a project, assign labor hours and see a graph of projected labor (therfore costs) for a myriad of projects all in a single (albiet huge) spreadsheet. It's a tough sell to get a project manager to switch to 360 when Excel seems easier to use and presents richer data in a single interface than 360 which would need multiple items. In all fairness I did not actually configure 360 to perform the above mentioned function. I spoke to Trung Nguyen out of SF who explained to me that it would take 3 items to replace my spreadsheet. It would seem to me that a purpose built app/function/capability within a single item would make more sense than having multiple items to perform an equivelant function as Excel. The more 360 can displace MS project and spreadsheets for project sheduling and management the better.

Previously I was able to create a custom print/form in 360 and it worked well enough BUT I could have used more functionality. I would prefer to be able to use a scanned document as the basis of my custom print. In that custom print I want to overlay the desired fields in the correct spacial location on the scanned document. In usage within an item I want a particupant to see the document directly an enter in the required feilds as needed (error checking and all). This is the same workflow as filling in a PDF file but instead it would 360-matized.
