Similar to ACC, Fusion Manage should allow users to markup a PDF and download the file with every markup. This is useful for companies dealing with vendors who need to be able to download the PDF with all markups and don't have access to it any other way.    Other Autodesk tools are using this capability and there is redlining capabilities already within FM for DWF and DWG file types. We have the need to produce a BOM that can have the same item used multiple times at the same level rather than increase the quantity, see below:   Imagine a simple assembly with two children as per fusion can currently produce: Machine Assembly                                                        x1 Bracket                                                                 x2 Plate                                                                     x3 With the above it is only possible to increase the quantity of each item.   What we require is: Machine Assembly                                                        x1 Bracket                                                                 x2 Plate                                                                     x1 Plate                                                                     x1 Plate                                                                     x1   Adding further child items can be included as new lines not increasing the quantity. I’m imagining a toggle (or similar) on the place component dialogue that allows the user to pick either increase quantity (the default option) or add new line item as above. The reason for this is to add extra property information to a BOM view such as location ID’s or similar for the individual components, If the quantities are grouped then this information cannot be accurately maintained. I have seen workarounds that use the grid to maintain this data, but this makes the syncing to ERP and ongoing maintenance of the BOM overly complex. Show More

In Modern, it can be hard to see which items line up with the rest of the row in the Where Used tab, but if there was filtering on the columns on the Where Used, like on the Items and lifecycles, it would be useful.    There are times when the Where Used tab becomes too difficult to decipher without considerable effort because an item has been used on multiple assemblies, and those assemblies have been updated various times, leading the list in the Where Used tab to grow incrementally with these changes. In many situations, users may be looking to see where an item is used to account for forecasting inventory or other procurement reasons. This is especially hard for users with no BOM information in their ERP systems.   Consider adding filters to the lifecycle and item columns to save our procurement users much hassle. Show More

The BOM tab in Fusion 360 Manage does not include duplicates of items.  Example: In an assembly with various components added in the BOM, "Component 1" will have an operational sequence of 50. The same component will have to be entered again in the BOM line with a different operational sequence of 80. This is not allowed in the BOM tab. I believe that this is a significant limitation. I request that Autodesk consider adding duplicates to the BOM tab, so it would be much easier for users to have a complete and accurate overview of their materials. Users always complain about the handling of numbers. Looking at left-aligned numbers like 1234567890.123 is painful, especially for users coming from Excel, ERP, CRM tools etc.   Please…. Field types Float, Integer and Money should have a “Format” option.   This could be a pick-list with these options: Accounting Scientific Custom1 Custom2 Custom3 Custom4   In General settings, please provide us the ability to specify these settings. In this way, administrators can provide field-level formatting. If no selection, the current behaviour should default.     When specified, the formatting should be used everywhere: Column mode: (Bom, Grid, Managed Items, …) + respect alignment option Item Details – in a matrix + respect alignment option Item details non-matrix – ignore alignment option Computed fields should also support this option (if easiest, only apply when a formula returns a numeric value) Derived fields should also support this (or could take the source field’s definition) Roll-up fields should also support this, for numeric types. Reports too (html only) APV & API should ignore this formatting, for backwards compatibility of integrations.   I would want numeric columns to still sort numerically (not as alphabetically after rendering) Please allow specify using sprintf type formatting (eg java.text.DecimalFormat is powerful, allows optional specification of negative numbers too) - or perhaps the postgres to_char() equivalent.   When specifying number formats at tenant level, this should not attempt any browser/profile specific rendering. Users should get the same everywhere on the tenant. Only dates should remain rendered based on profile setting.   The above is specific, but is for "inspiration" only. The Fusion Manage revision scheme was developed for an outdated ASME Y14.35 standard. The system does not support revisions after YY and the findings below prove this: Fusion Manage allows you to import revisions at AAA and it will move to AAB but once it gets to AAY and a change is performed it doesn't give it a revision (it is blank). Once a record gets to YY in Fusion Manage and you run a revision process, the revision becomes "--"   The AMSE Y14.35 standard has been updated to allow for three characters in a revision (e.g. AAA, AAB, ..., AAY, ABA,...) and clients that are up to date on the industry standard need Fusion Manage to be up to date as well.   Show More

BOM tab - The Add/Edit buttons should auto-hide/grey based on my permission. Currently, when I hit the button, if I don't have permission, it instead gives me an error.   The BOM tab's "Create new item" hides/appears based on my permission. The Item Detail's "Edit" button shows/greys based on my permission.   It is inconsistent / irritating / confusing that the BOM tab's Add/Edit does not work in the same way. Show More

It is in random ("database") order, which is extremely irritating for users.   Ideally, I would like to be able to save a sort order on the Workspace relationships admin page, but for now please just sort the picklist of workspaces alphabetically.   If you could also sort the list on Relationships ("Add" dialog), you would be our Picklist Heroes!   Show More

Filtering capability in the BOM tab is urgently needed.   It is super hard to find items in a very big BOM.   Some quoted background information below for your reference (also captured in CaseNo:19097786 & CaseNo:18142744) " I was talking to one of our engineers last night about the frustration he has every time he needs to edit a medium sized BOM. Below are some more notes on this bug. Have a good day, DaveB   Problem WRT the attached BOM: In the fusion BOM view I am trying to edit the quantities of all 20-1217 on the BOM - I need to add double washers. The native find-command in Chrome will only find 20-1217 if it is displayed on the screen. This BOM has around 400 line items so it is impossible to find the line to edit. The only work around is to export the BOM to Excel  to find approximately where they are and then do a slow scroll to find them. This is totally unacceptable. It is shocking to me that I cannot do this. This is a huge step backwards in core functionality. Windows Notepad was released in 1983 and had this feature. I am not trying to be offensive here but every program that I have ever used, that had a search tool, has this core functionality.   Required outcome: To be able to use the find command in the BOM view and it will find items that have scrolled off of the screen (above/below/left/right) using the native browser find tool -- Ctrl+F. If #2 cannot be done, then having the ability to filter the columns like we are able to do in the Items Workspace page would allow me to filter out the unwanted part numbers. In the properties, you can edit the volume mass. For the same volume, the weight is different if it is made out of steel, aluminium, copper or any other materials you can work with.   Now it is possible to Edit a negativ mass weigth. If you create a negative mass it will not be corected. The CAD will then calculates with the total values of an assembly. The sum will decrease. This is a source for failer.    For the Users, when they edit properties, no negative values are allowed in the input field of the mass. Show More

In the BOM, we can have a possibility to add an item from Various Workspaces. This is a good option because we can segregate items (Documents VS Components) because their most of the fields of the second one are not relevant for the first one as this is not a component.   But from the BOM Layout, event if we have a possibility to select items of both workspaces and some the the fields are similar we cannot select them in the configuration   Exemple of a missing field in a BOM   Show More

Every manufacturing company (I know) has BOMs where an item is present several times with different positions and respective quantities. An aluminum profile, a shat, a ...,  is present several times with same item number and different positions and  according lengths. Combining those positions to one is not working. The quantity would be summed up, which would be wrong and even dangerous. Creating an item for each manufactured part would be a proliferation of single items used just for one time.   bottom line, it is necessary to handle same item in a BOM with different positions and related quantity and position information like length or the like.    Inventor and Vault provide BOMs where same item can be present several times. ERPs can handle this as well. The PLM in the middle cannot, which makes a Vault to PLM to ERP integration impossible, at least for manufacturing companies.   this is pretty urgent, as it's a show stopper for all this type of projects. In the security, you can go to the Lifecycle Editor and make changes for the general lifecycle. Changes not made often. But it would be helful, if the handling in the Lifecycle Editor is more simple. You can not set points for the path. If you create or change the arrows, it can be fast desplayed ugly and weired. In the workspace from F360M, the soultion is much better. Show More

Currently, the BOM view does not allow to click on a column and sort the BOM based on a specific column.   Since there is no sorting and / or filtering option in BOM view, users need to manually search and look for specific information. This becomes time consuming and problematic for a person who needs to review and / or approve a BOM. Hello,   In the MUI, when we go to the tab “Bill of Material” of an item, we see only the item and its direct children (only the first level).   Example: item 010-01045   This item 010-01045 contains 5 direct children. If we would like to download the Excel file of the bill of material, we click on the 3 dots and select “Export to Excel”. If we do that, the excel file contains only the item and its direct children, not all the sub children.   When we download a bill of material, most of the time, we expect to have the FULL BOM and not only the first level. The export in Excel downloads only what we see in the “Bill of Material” tab of the item. So, if we would like to download the full BOM, we need to click on the “Expand All” button, wait (in the case of the item 010-01045 I wait 20 minutes to open the 5971 files of the BOM) and then, download the Excel file. If I want to change the view of the BOM, the web page is refreshed and we see only the item and its direct children (first level only). It means that, if I expand all the BOM (20 minutes) and then change the view because it was not the correct one, I need to wait 20 more minutes before having the right to download the Excel file.   If you want to download only what is shown when you click on the button “Export to Excel”, it fine for me but, could you please add a second button called “Export ALL the BOM to Excel”. This button will download the full BOM even if the BOM is not fully expanded in the PLM.   Thanks, Sylvain Show More

In the BOM tab, you can see all items. Revision, Lifcecycle, Quantity...  A lot of Information can be displayed.   However, one is missing. If you want to know, what ist the weight/mass of a Pos. a sub assembly or the total weight from all parts. I tried to calculate it with the Quantity. It does not work. It would be great to have a functionality, to calculate a integer field with quantity.   In this case, it can not be mapped with Inventor/Vault, because the BOM are made without this tools Show More
