Layer keeps turning back on

Why does this layer keep turning on???

nnovotney_0-1783324075800.png

I click the eyeball and turn it off...5 minutes later while  placing (or moving?) PCB parts (or possibly working on the schematic), I see it has come back on!  I want it  off and to STAY OFF.  When on, it throws about 10 pages of text all over the board layout---dimensions, numbers, pad sizes, and other stuff I don't need to see.  It keeps mysteriously turning back on, after a dozen times this gets very irritating.

Hi @nnovotney ,

I'll make a bug report for this since the layer should stay off if you have set it that way. Could you confirm if these parts came from Ultra-librarian or SnapEDA? That data on those layers in indicative that it came from those sources. That info might be useful in correcting the issue so I would you to confirm if you can.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We're investigating the issue, and you can reference ticket FUS-259785 when communicating with Autodesk to find out more. Once the status of this will change, there will be a follow-up forum post made.

Yes the parts came from either ultra lib or snapeda... but what would that have to do with the program itself turning on layers you have shut off???

So you are agreeing that clicking on the eyeball and turning it off should KEEP it off, correct?

Is there any other operation  or situation that might turn it back on , other than clicking on the eyeball to do so?

Note: I have not defined any layer sets or messed with the layer settings, other than  color, and the eyeball

I'll see if I can track down more precisely when this erroneously turns  on.

Hi @nnovotney ,

The provenance of the libraries has nothing to do with the layer turning on, but because our default libs don't include features on that layer QA would have difficulty reproducing the issue if they didn't know it comes from ultra lib or snap EDA.

The layer should stay off, I am agreeing with you.

If you do find a more specific procedure, I would welcome it.

If the PCB has the top doc layer off, and in the schematic I place a component from MY own fusion lib for the project...as soon as I double click the component in the schematic place components menu, the PCB top D2 doc layer eyeball lights up, but no board messy text  shows.   After I drag and place the clicked part on the schematic, the board fills with text (big monitor has the board & main fusion and the smaller monitor has the dragged out schematic).

I don't know if that happens for every component in my own fusion lib, or just certain ones.  If I pick a component from a fusion provided lib, this does not seem to happen.
This is obviously pretty crappy to keep happening every few minutes!!

Using this brand new version:

Fusion 2704.1.15 x86_64

..is Fusion actually tested?  How thoroughly???????

I also tried  locking the entire document  section with D2 turned off... still same result (obviously it wasn't locked!)

Even if I use a single screen, the same thing happens (when I click on the brd tab, it shows as messed up), so it is not a docking issue.

How can simply clicking on a component in the  place component listing cause D2 to turn on (even when locked!)

Hello @nnovotney,

Thank you for the exact process. I agree this shouldn't be happening, I'll pass this along to QA for review.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
