First issue: prevent some clown for changing your mail; the last sentence in my last message is not from me. This clown be said: He evidently doesn't know what programming is. My first profi software was on an Intel 4004. Programmed with PO-switches. Start-up was PDP 8 followed by PDP 9. Telemac (French) followed, this time with the bootstrap on punched tape and a FAX printer as monitor.. Luxury without end. Even had 1Kb RAM (erm storage)
Issue II. Talking of software and Inventor: who wrote Inventor at Autodesk, then? I don't believe it, sorry. How about XXXX House, then? It can't be the same as those who write Fusion... Talking to Autodesk experts in ca. 2001, I thought I was talking to some of Gates's gormless mob. Autodesk couldn't believe I would refuse to allow our Uni's server group to be completely re-programmed so that Inventor 6 would function on it.
Issue III. Fusion cannot be used for profi construction, if for anything usable at all. Forget Autodesks usual problem with saving (and retrieving) files in any sort of logical manner, you can't apply normal CAD logical at all most of the time. Millions of clicks to tell you the wrong fault. I've tried to work out Fusion for weeks, including Videos, expert (hah!) advice and books. I've given up, completely defeated. I'd start buying Inventor again but the price is too high. SW has its faults but if I can't get Inventor at a sensible price, so be it. I don't know why I'd still use Inventor otherwise. Probably better the devil you know. And twent years of Inventor doesn't go by without scars.
So, Autodesk: Please, please try to save what could be saved. At least the idea of Fusion was not wrong.
