There should be a Auto 2D Drawing dimensioning function in Fusion 360.  I mean, if we designed it already in Fusion, then the dimensions are all there in the files, even in the STEP files.   We have to design the project twice to get a set of dimensioned Drawings. A true automated system would do this for you.

If it exists then I have not found it.  Point me to it.

No reasion it works for me anyway I do it.

Selecting the flange command first then what to flange or selecting what to flange then selecting the flange command, actually don't do it this way I just broke it

Select Flange first.

What?

You broke it?

More words are required here.

What didn't work?  What did work?

What broke the Fusion Sheet Metal?

Maybe I broke it too, last night?

Your public wants to know...  🙂

You broke it.  You broke Fusion 360 Sheet Metal.  That must be what happened to me last night.

Good Job!  You just found a bug in the software.

Where is @promm the project manager?  Someone better tell him about this.

He needs to fix this before he releases the full Sheet Metal on the 8th.

I just emailed him.  He needs to hear about this.

Well, he will hear about this sooner or later.  Sooner is best.

If the Flange function is buggy then what do you have?

I have I reported it after I posted it here, the bit at the end with the non selection yer thats a bad one it's going to be hard for them to fix as I can not reproduces it I have tried but nup wont happen again.

The double flange would be useful for 3D printing not sheetmetal.

So imagine releasing a SHEET METAL program that has bugs in the Flange area.  Without the Flange being reliable then you have no SHEET METAL program.  Yikes!

Intermittent is difficult, but not impossible.  It could be due to clearing of memory variables or something like that.  It could be a conflict with some other settings.  It could be pointer related.  Testing is important.  That is why we are here with the Preview version.

You might not be able to easily reproduce the problem, however, you captured it on video.

I know.  Maybe @promm is on vacation.  You would think he would have chimed in here.

Well, other than the intermittent Flange bug, which your video documented, the rest of the video really hits the spot.

Good work.

Can you imagine if Solidworks gets wind of this?

Since we can't do anything I should tell you I got a new cat.  My Manx (in profile photo) died a few months back.  It really was tough.

However, I adopted a 4 month old Siberian female.  What a pretty kitty.  She sits in between my keyboards.  She eats like a horse, but only weighs 8.5 lbs.

Notice who's video is on the monitor.

Also, I cannot edit "In This Design" for some reason.

Here I am in Sheet Metal and just created a new component from a Offset the Push to 0.090".

I want to make sure the In This Design is Aluminum 5052 H32.

What next?  I don't think I am doing anything wrong.

I wont to get 2 bengal cats, or a Russian blue they are quite expensive, they are good cats to have if there is a lot of dogs or cats that hang around they wont after a few days they are meant to be good with kids as well.

A lot of people don't understand why people get upset when their pets die, my last cat I had to get put down it would jump on my back when I was useing my wood lathe and attack the chips flying off it, it was funny.

promm may well be haveing a holiday, it's sort of a good time to have it with the update coming on the 8th.

Solidworks wont realy worry about it they had their chances at doing the same thing and did not take it they will be around for ever like Autodesk.

Can you post the model from your pick, reasons if I cant edit it there is something wrong in sheetmetal or your setting if I can then it's sheetmetal on your computer or in what you set for the rules. it helps for tracing down where the fault comes from, most times it's one of 4 things, your settings should come through with the model.

In this first video, at 2.14 you cannot remove Steel so you rename the rule.  Does that not create a problem?  If there are rules that go with that other than those in the dialog box, they won't change.  Just the name will change from Steel to Aluminum.  Do you think that might be an issue? I can't even to do that at this point.

If I have a steel part and make a surface from it, then push to 0.090" will that also be steel or will it be the default metal which is aluminum 5052-H32?

Siberians are expensive too, at least in the States, but sometimes people lose their homes and have to leave the kitties behind.

You better be ready for Bengals.  They can turn on the water and open doors.

Well, here in the States no sheet metal or CNC shops I talk to has even heard of Fusion 360.  They all use Solidworks.  Everything I make has to be imported into Solidworks.  I use STEP files for them.  People use Autodesk Autocad for building homes and swimming pools.

It should come up with your model default material you set in preferences, right click at the top element in the tree and select properties it will show what it is set to, if it is wrong goto modify - physical materials and change it there.

What it shows in the Rules for the material does not come through to the drawing.

I will ask lars if he can do a vid showing how to go from nothing to finished with setting all the settings including the physical material, A lot of people will see it that way.

I don't think so.  I haven't rebooted my computer in a week.

Flanges just started working again.

Maybe @promm and his developers are not on vacation.

Daniel,

look at this.  This is pretty clear.   This is a class on  bending math.

His examples...  Whooa...  look at his finger.    Yikes!

This is good too.

Bend Allowance

Bend Angle

Bend Radius

Bend Over  🙂  yuk  yuk yuk...

I was reading this calculator page from a sheet metal shop.  Not sure what to think about this.

I am using aluminum 0.90" 5250-h32
