Removing a fillet in a sketch?

After I've added a fillet to a corner of a rectangle in a sketch, is there a way to remove the fillet (and restore the corner of the rectangle)?

Thanks.

Hi,

For the cases when you are not able to undo.

One of the ways to restore it is 'Extend' the two edges and select the fillet curve and hit delete.

Hope it helps.

Hi Jet - additionally, it's generally best practice to keep sketches as simple as possible and avoid adding sketch fillets, add those as fillet feature on the solid model instead.

Here's a quote from @PaulMunford's blog, it's for Inventor but the same sketching principle applies:

Be Lazy and keep it simple. There is a fine line between efficiency and laziness; Don’t try to be everything to everyone with one sketch. Instead of making one sketch to be used for every feature in the model, follow one of the golden rules of sketching – KISS – one sketch per feature.

Only create in the sketch what you can work with easily. The moment sketching becomes work to fully constrained your sketch is too complicated .

Fillets are best as features and should be avoided in the sketch, same with chamfers, mirroring and most patterns. These types of sketch elements over complicate the sketch and are better controlled as features.[Why are these tools there then? You may run into rare cases where you have to use them].

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Indy. I'll keep that advice in mind.

So, basically, our program isn't able to undo or change a fillet in a sketch. You should have had a backup.

Is that it?

Did you read message no 2 above, it can be fixed, without a back up.

If it is very complex to redraw, what I do is change the dimension of the fillet to 0.

How about when drawing lines to use with "pipe"? I draw a line shape in a sketch. I save the sketch and then apply the "pipe" to it. I typically add the fillet in the sketch to make rounded corners (bend simulation). When I need to resize the lines it is tough. The post in message 2 is helpful but is still a bunch of work. I don't think I can round these edges in the solid model. Anyone have any thoughts or helpful ideas?Screenshot 2024-10-29 165334.pngScreenshot 2024-10-29 165301.pngScreenshot 2024-10-29 165059.png

When I resize the lines it is tough….

use fully defined 2d / 3d sketches - (no white points).  For pipes with fillet corners, use sketch fillet.

change dimension, and Fusion will update, if not send the file, with a description of your challenges you face.

Might help….

If you can already fillet multiple edges in sketch and by changing one you change them all, so wouldn't it make sense if we for example set the fillet to 0 it deletes them and put's the lines back (extends to intersection point)?
Main case here is when you have many sketch fillets
