Moving components with ease and accuracy

I've three components that I want to move to the 0 point of the construction plan.  My usual method is to select all the obects and then a center point to be moved to another point.  I can't seem to do this.  I'l like to know why.

The three components of your pan are in a component group (also otherwise referred to as an assembly).

That assembly has its own origin.

You can simply us a point to point move of that assembly and select the assembly origin as the start point and the top level origin as the target.
