Good evening all, I am new to the Fusion 360 program and I am attempting to learn this on my own with tutorials and such. I was watching a Youtube video of a guy making stuff with Acrylic and I thought I could do that. Here is my issue...I have watched this video at least 100 times and tried to duplicate what the guy is doing, but when it comes time to do a specific command, I get nothing. I am starting and stopping and doing it the exact way he does, but I cannot get the extrude function to work on the same line.

This is the video, between 4:43 and 6:50, the guy creates a secondary channel using offset, which I am able to do just fine. Then he scrolls over the lines and the new channel high lights , then he uses the extrude command. This is where I run in to the issue. After I complete everything and I mouse over the new line(channel is for a rubber seal), it is part of the main body and I cannot specifically select it. I have been beating myself up for days trying to figure out what I am doing wrong and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached my f3d I have been working on.
Thanks in advance..
Sincerely,
Eric Romig
