Issue with Offset and Extrude

Good evening all, I am new to the Fusion 360 program and I am attempting to learn this on my own with tutorials and such. I was watching a Youtube video of a guy making stuff with Acrylic and I thought I could do that. Here is my issue...I have watched this video at least 100 times and tried to duplicate what the guy is doing, but when it comes time to do a specific command, I get nothing. I am starting and stopping and doing it the exact way he does, but I cannot get the extrude function to work on the same line.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liVlhFemTCg

This is the video, between 4:43 and 6:50, the guy  creates a secondary channel using offset, which I am able to do just fine. Then he scrolls over the lines and the new channel high lights , then he uses the extrude command. This is where I run in to the issue. After I complete everything and I mouse over the new line(channel is for a rubber seal), it is part of the main body and I cannot specifically select it. I have been beating myself up for days trying to figure out what I am doing wrong and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached my f3d I have been working on.

Thanks in advance..

Sincerely,

Thanks for posting. Problem is simple. You've created the sketch in the plane which is inside of the object.

What you need to do is, right click on the sketch profile and select "Redefine Sketch Plane". Then Select the Side plane of the solid body.

Now you can choose the Area you want to extrude.

It wont be a problem if you'd created the sketch on this plane of the body firstly.

Hope your problem is solved.

Because the channel is so small, Fusion is opting to select the large profile, zoom in a little, then

hide the body with the eyeball, and any other sketches,

Start the Extrude and then groove channel profile,

show the body (eyeball again), and continue....

You have 4 fillet commands (not wrong), but you can select the four edges in one command, for a tidier result...

I missed that @MoshiurRashid - so its now a combo of steps.

Might help,,,,

It's not uncommon for entities to lie close or ontop of each other, making it hard to pick a specific one.  A long mouse click brings up a list of things under the mouse pointer, and high-lights each one as you move over them in the dialog, allowing you to pick the exact item you want.

The regular way of inserting screen casts into forums doesn't seem to be working right now.  here's a link-
