Hi all,

Sorry for my english, i'm French.

I try to make a Dome of R2-D2, i managed to create the panels of the top, but now I should make a hole on a face of one of these panels, is it possible?

That's not that bad. Try to draw top view but with hidden arcs, then draw front view (aligne with top view). Draw constuction lines from front view to top view. That will tell you how it's build.

Today is too late for me, but tomorrow I will show you the method.

It is easier when one in the habit of used a soft, It makes only a few days that I put myself in the 3d, but I am persevering lol

Hi, that part did looked trivial, but it turned out it was not. On first sight I thought it was all prismatic part. But it turned out that main opening have to non-prismatic surfaces.
I think someone have made mistake. That drawing was (I suspect) done in 2D and that could cause all trouble. There is also bug in dimension. Angle 59deg seems to be just an aproximation.

First drawing in attached pdf is completly messed up. There is semi section view (from unknown plane) and on top of that is overdrawn profile, very misleading. I can say that's very bad example to start with CAD. I will help you, but I need to debug whole process. Since I know what is wrong with first page, we should get what you need.

I even have found part in .step, this way I was able confirm my suspicions about meaning of first drawing. Be patient i will show you how to do it.

Ok, the model is ready but I can't confirm if it's ok. Data in page #4 are inconsistent, where I would expect to see angular dimension , I found distance... There is no enough information about which face is planar to which, etc. Page #5 should serve to confirm dimensions, but these are dimensions relative to some unspecified plane.

I will record screencast tomorrow, today I will only share my file.

 Sketch the line and then Split Body.

If you modeled with symmetry about the origin - you might be able to use one of the origin planes for the split rather than creating a new sketch.

I don't modeled with symetry, i did not succeed like that, I cheated otherwise, it was longer, but I arrived there.

I have every time to take up one walls of every quoted which I then erased
