how do i do dxf splines to polylines?

Hey guys, My laser cutter is asking if i can change splines to polylines? Ive been looking and trying but can't figure it out. I tried to post the dxf but i keep getting a error that the attachment doesn't match the file extention.

Dxf files need to be zipped in order to attach to the thread.

Try DXF Spline To Polyline from the app store.

Can you guys tell me if the app worked on either of the files. Laser guy said it didn't work on version 1. I tried again and made a version 2. Thank you

Both files opened fine in my 2d CAD program which also can't handle Fusion 360 splines.  What error is the laser man getting?  Can he take a screenshot of the failure?

he's using solidworks and says it has facets or nodes and the laser cutter will stop at each one. Here's a pic of his computer.

Can you export as step file?  Solidworks can handle that.

Tried that already. He said it won't be smooth curves. Thank you.

I even wrote a plasma program in fusion and posted it out as a dxf to see if it would work, and no go. The cnc program was good, all the cuts where smooth. Wish I had a table big enough, I would cut it myself.

Try exporting a dwg file using the original splines.  Solidworks can theoretically import those.

Ok, the dwg didn't work. He recommends tracing over it or importing into autocad and exporting out with polylines cconverted. Here's a email from him with a pic of the error.

See attached it’s the same issue as yesterday. Tell the guys in the forum to open them up or click on the lines there all segmented. I can cut it like this if you like. If you want clean arcs then it will need to be modified. To show that. what you see in this image is what you will get.

I ran dxf to polysplines again.It's kinda wierd in the fact that it will run forever if you let it, but as soon as you hit ok then it stops running. Just makes me wonder if it actually converted it. I let it go for 2hrs.

Just checked with my buddy who has solidworks and you can see all the nodes.
