Remember, Fusion's T-Splines affect profiles/edges only a certain number of edges away from the change. You can have the form-fitting part flow into an organic part by adding in complexity.
Here are some notes:
- Create the extrusion up, it will have sharp edges
- Notice that Fusion will apply "creased edges" to the places in the extrusion where there is a sharp crease. You will want to keep that crease at the bottom, and "lose" the crease higher up.
- Double click on top edge, right click and "insert edge"...move that edge down closer to the bottom. You can later adjust those edges by double clicking on them, and selecting "slide edge"
- Do that a couple of times.
- Click Modify --> UnCrease and select the sides you want to be smooth. Depending on how many subdivisions you made, that transition will be sudden, or more smooth
Now you have a form fitting bottom, and the ability to make the top whatever you desire:
