Converting Mesh to Solid

I have an STL of a skull i have cleaned up and converted to what I thought was a body. Using Mesh Mixer I changed the original STL to a solid then brought it in to Fusion, reduced the mesh then converted it to a BRep.
Now i want to add a cylindrical extrusion to the bottom however it is not acting like a normal body would, I can cut and intersect the skull but I can not join an extrusion to the base of the skull.

I have noticed the icon does not appear as a normal body would so not quite sure as to what I have done wrong.

Your screenshot is just too small for me to tell but the icon doesn't look like a solid, which has this type of icon:

It appears to be maybe a surface body?

Or still a mesh?

The icon identifies the type of body.

Attempting to make a solid out of a mesh like that might result in a lot of errors or gaps. If you have a set of surfaces you can try using the Stitch tool and adjusting tolerances to try to get to a solid.

Maybe try uploading a larger screenshot?

Yes it appears that it is an open model and for some reason will not close, I tried the stitch option but it keeps coming back with nothing to stitch.

Is there any way to analyse the mesh to see where the open bit is?

Sorted it 🙂 Opened the model in an application called Netfabb and did a repair on it, seems there were 2 items that had not been stitched. then brought the repaired  STL in to Fusion and converted it perfectly!

Thanks for the pointer regarding it being an open model not a closed one.
