Depth of field

I can't seem to move the centre of focus for the depth of field in the render scene settings as per the image below.

Any ideas?

Yu have to click somewhere on the object(s)  in the viewport, A green dot (IIRC) appears where you clicked.

That is the focal point the DOF is evaluated around.

Thanks TrippyLighting. I have tried that. The dot is there but I can't move it.

With the "depth of filed" enabled and the arrow icon underneath also enabled , indicated by the blue color, you should be able to click on an object in the viewport and see the green dot move to that pint.

I am very new to this software. Might it be to do with how you set up the project at the start?

I don't think so. I think it is easiest if you create a screencast and records what you are doing. I use OBS for my screencasts.

It seems I can't move the dot on the main component but can move the dot to a different component but not back again!

Can you please expand the browser so we can see the contents of the bodies folder in each component?

I think he wants the bodies folder expanded also.

is the body set to "unselectable"?

its a mesh body.  doesn't seem to be available for selecting.

That is exactly what I tought!

@tomXMSG No, that cannot be changed. My suggestion for a workaround is to create a solid body in the spot you want to focus on and then select it in the render environment. Once you have the focal point set, you should be able to hide the object.

Forgive my ignorance but can a mesh be turned into a body?
