Cant move sketch

Seriously I don't get why I can't move sketches at all.
Here's my problem:

Made a sketch and then moved my fence and tried to align it. But I figured out that I could place it in the center and use the rectangular pattern on both sides.

hard to say without the design.  Usually, this behavior is because at least one point in the sketch is locked, or otherwise fully constrained, and not free to move.  If you share the design, we can find out more...

I think you have to be editing the sketch.  Some of that sketch appears fully defined.

copy / paste to move between sketches.

I thought the same, but it's not true.  You can move sketch items when you're not editing a(ny) sketch.

thanks.  Assuming this is sketch42, you can see the issue if you edit that sketch.  The outer rectangle geometry is fully constrained and bound to the face here, so is not free to move

if you just select the two lines in the middle, those are free to move
