@marcus.harvey55 are you getting any error message?  It's likely related to the outage that we're currently experiencing - http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/notice-intermittent-service-degradation/td-p/....  In the meantime, consider working Offline until services are fully restored.

Hi. No. Not getting any error message. In the drop down that features save and save as, both are not highlighted.  Just grey. I've tried exporting, that doesn't work. I've tried to add new project in folder, but when i click add project, nothing happens. I've had to leave my laptop on all night so as not to lose my work. But at some point i need to save or all is for nothing.  Help.

Hi marcus,

We want to help you out. There are couple of things you could try:

  1. Make some changes to the design (saying turn on/off the visibility of the Origin folder in the browser, or move a view if it's a drawing) and see if the Save button is enabled.
  2. Expand the Data Panel. Access a project then click the name of the project to open it in web browser. - It’s to check the internet connection is OK for Fusion 360.

If it doesn’t help, we need more information to look into the problem. Could you capture a screenshot of the Fusion application with Data Panel expanded (or a screencast for the issues you mentioned)? Furthermore, it would be very helpful if you can attach the Diagnostic Log Files, so we can look into the logs and see where the problem is.

Hi everyone,

I have a very similar problem... I clicked save and no error accured. I thought everything is fine until I saw that nothing is uploading. I am afraid to close Fusion360 and loose all my Progress. When I try to quit I can choose "Save and Quit" but there is no Progress at all...

best regards,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Welcome to the community! From the description and the log file, the files are just pending uploading. It could be slow if the internet connection is slow.

You may quit Fusion directly, and next time when you open Fusion, the uploading will start automatically.

Thanks for the help. I have a very fast Internet Connection. When I browse the web I have no problems. I left the PC on for 6 hours but nothing happened. It's only 2,5 MB so the speed is not the problem.
I closed F360 and reopened it and tried to save a dummy file with just a extruded Circle. Same Problem, it won't save. I get no error or warning. It just does not upload anything. I'm running Windows 10. On my MacBook everything seems fine saving files.

Hi s.hel,

Thanks for the update. It seems there are some troubles to access the online services which handle the data storage. Were you accessing network through a proxy server? If yes, I am wondering if the solution posted in the below link may help with your issue.

Thanks,
I unfortunately have no proxy server. Interesting is, that I can download files from the cloud from your servers. But when I make changes it won't save them back to the cloud. I also disabled antivir and have no firewall installed. Nothing has changed.

Best regards

Hi Sebastian,

A few clarifying questions:

  • Have the files you're having trouble saving been recently uploaded? The log indicates there are uploads happening in the background.
  • Is it only 1 file or all files?
  • Is it only in a specific project or folder?

For #1 above can you try the following:

  1. Exit Fusion.
  2. Launch explorer and navigate to c:\users\{username}\appdata\local\autodesk\autodesk fusion 360\{alphanumericfolder}\W.login
  3. Rename the file UploadQueueFileList.xml.
  4. Exit Explorer, launch Fusion, and retry saving.

For #s 2 & 3 above we want to find out if it's only specific project(s) or folder(s). To do this:

  1. Launch Fusion.
  2. Navigate to another project or folder (or create them)
  3. Open a design, make a change, and save file.

Additionally, in Fusion you can try clearing the data cache. To do this click ont eh Help menu (?) and choose Clear user cache data.

One last thing is if Fusion is having trouble synchronizing restarting the computer may help.

Thanks.

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it!

1.
So I renamed the upload file. Opened F360 and created a new design. After I clicked save and chose a new folder the "upload" started (but does nothing again).

2.
I created a new Project, created a new Design and saved it to that new project folder. Same here. No error, but nothing is uploading.

3.
Cleared cache and it restarted automatically. I created a new design, saved it to a new project folder and again, nothing.

4.
I restarted my Computer 2 times but nothing has changed.

Interestingly I get no server timeout or error message. I can export and save in Offline mode fine.

I'll upload another diagnostic file.

Best regards,
Sebastian

I also had this problem.  Started a new project today.  Worked on it for several hours.  Kept trying to manually save it and rename the untitled file, but the option was greyed out.  Finally, after about 5 hours of the spinning thing on the file, I tried quitting, hoping Fusion360 would autosave and recover.  Nope.  Lost about 5 hours of worked.

Lessen learned: never work on a file until it will let you rename or save, because file recovery does not appear to work with untitled files.

Hi,

Your work is not lost! The thing I've learned is, that if you go in offline Mode the next start, it shows you all files that couldn't be uploaded the last time. There is a cache for those files.

I hope it works for you. I now export every file manually to be sure I have it later.

Sebastian

Hi there,

Im having a similar issue. My save and save as buttons are not highlighted, and when i tried to save the first time, it said I had to be online to sync my current projects. I did confirm 360 said I was working online, tried going offline to save, no fix, returned online and that also didnt solve the issue. If i try closing the program, it asks if I want to save, to which I click yes, then I get a white box that just says "Receiving data" and nothing happens. Nothing pops up if I open the data plate either.

This is my first time using 360 so I could just be missing something but Im not sure what.

Thanks in advanced

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Can you send us your diagnostic log files? Just to check - has the data panel ever worked before? Also, are you on a proxy network? To collect your diagnostic log files, open Fusion 360 and then go to the Help menu in the top-right corner and select "Diagnostic Logs".

Thanks,

it rarely works. I press files/saved files to open them and it is just white screen. I cant even see the folders that ı created, nothing, but ı cn see them on F360 app on ipad.

it is sooo annoying,

Hi,

Yes please send in the log file.

Can you also try logging in and seeing if you have access to the files via a web browser? Go to myhub.autodesk360.com.

Additionally, can you tell us what kind of network you're using for access? Corporate? School/University? Public? Home?

I had this exact problem. But Fusion 360 crashed when this happened so a couple of hours of work were just gone. At the time this happened, I was in my school designing a project. But my schools network was (and is) down. I am wondering if you absolutely need to have internet to save files? Does my saved files save to my computer or is it a storage somewhere? If so, why can't I just save files directly to my computer?
