Sometimes a design change will break projected curves in a sketch, they turn yellow. We need a way to reselect the lost edges, deleting then reprojecting loses all of the constraints\dimensions referencing the projected curves.
Many times when I change a sketch then sketches that come after it in the timeline have a warning that the projection source is lost and cached is used. Fixing this is problematic for several reasons: * finding the problematic points/lines is tricky. They are colored in yellow, but sometimes the graphics draws them behind other geometry in the same position, so can't see them or click them. * there is no way to re-associate the projection source with the projection. It seems the only option is to delete the geometry in warning and redo it, as well as any geometry and constraints using it. This is a pain and error prone.
Instead, it would be nice to be able to have a "re-associate" action (similar to drawings) which allows to pick a new source. If possible to make this action available from the warning browser.
Hey all - I'm happy to report that we have begun a project to allow you to Re-link projected curves! For more details on the current mockup of the workflow, please follow the below link to a different forum post and comment there if you have any questions or suggestions.
I am glad to give you an update that the latest release of Fusion 360 has the feature called Manage Lost Projections which will allow you to fix broken projection by re-associating.
