Setting up your profile

UG Profile.png

Your profile on Autodesk Community exhibits all of the contributions and expertise you’ve shared with the community. Forum posts, blogs, tips and gallery projects you’ve authored are all viewable in one place to demonstrate your experience as a designer and maker.

Complete your Autodesk Community profile to introduce yourself to the community and share your interests, hobbies and which products you use as you contribute to the community, whether as an Autodesk University speaker, a community blog author or a forum contributor.

Building a strong profile is as easy as 1, 2, 3

  1. Complete your bio and add an avatar: While we recommend including a photo of yourself, any custom avatar will help you stand out and be recognized in the community. Completing your bio lets the community know your product strengths, industry expertise, and any interests or hobbies to add a personal touch to your profile.
  2. Be active and get involved! Whether you contribute to the forums, the community blog, hosting classes, or otherwise helping the community, your contributions are automatically added to your profile and help build your reputation in the community.
  3. Share your websites and social media: We understand there are many places you can share your expertise – use your profile and take the time to share your LinkedIn, YouTube and personal blogs with the broader community.

How to build out your profile and add an avatar:

How to add a custom signature:

  1. Select "Forum preferences" from the drop-down menu on any page.

  1. In the ‘Personal’ tab, enter a custom signature using HTML. We recommend using an HTML editor online to preview what your signature looks like before adding it to Autodesk Community. If you are not familiar with HTML, some online editors have standard text formatting that will also provide the HTML code needed to display what you have chosen for your community signature.

Please keep in mind that signatures are shown under every post and reply. Therefore, the Autodesk Community Rules & Etiquette limit signature lengths to 3 lines and ask that any images used be kept to a reasonable size. Our moderation team will contact you if your signature exceeds these limits.

Adjusting Personal Messages (PMs):
  1. Navigate to forum preferences
  2. Select the ‘Preferences’ tab in the My Site Preferences page.
  3. Untick the ‘Turn on private messages’ option not to receive any PMs or ‘Receive email notifications for new private messages’ option not to receive emails when you receive PMs.

2. Click the HTML icon in the toolbar (as shown below).
3. The HTML window should appear, allowing you to paste in existing HTML code or copy the code needed to display your current comment.
