I intend to edit the all Structure Names in the Vista. I have the correct names arranged in the same order in an Excel

file. It is only allowing me to do it one at a time. Is there some way I can achieve this for all structures in one go?

And, if I edit the Structure namesin the Structure list, will the pipes list automatically reflect the changes?

Thanks.

you have a couple of ways

The modify tab>> pipe networks>>design >> rename renumber allows you to select the order in plan or panorama and apply a new name template.

I prefer the panorama selection it easy especially if the order is related to an alignment

Wow! That was a quick answer. Thanks.😊

I too would like to do it in Panorama. I would love if it were possible like in a Spread sheet such as in Excel. Is it possible? Is there some trick?

I have created a network copying from 2D Shop drawings provided to me. I created the parts. The network has structures, which currently has some place holder names generated by default. I now want them renamed to suit their proper names copying from 2D shop drawings. Since it was produced in a haphazard manner, the place holder structure names, generated by default, are not in order. I thought, I could use the Excel routine to edit all structure names by copy - paste from a spread sheet file. I can do it one by one. That is time consuming. I have over 5000 Structures in one file. I have several of such files. I was on the lookout for an easier and swifter method.

Thanks.

This is what I do.

sort the structures by station, select in panorama and use the rename routine

sorting bt Northing or Easting will do as well.

in a real pinch you can select by plan in the order you wish

Thanks a lot.

I am looking for mass editing. I have thousands of structures whose name needs to be edited. It would be breeze if we could copy paste like in Excel. Wondering if there is any such possibility.

Also, can we think up a way to do it through the "Record - Replay" mode. Will check. This occurred to me while I typed this message. If you think it possible, please try and let me know too.

Thanks again.

I have attached a video of my actions. This is what I can do.

I did not find a "Rename" command where I can change the entire list of names for structures in the Panorama. Do not know if I have missed something.

I could probably do it for Points for example.

Please let me know if there is any other workflow which can get me faster results.

Dynamo, currently is a long haul for me.

Thanks.

Greetings.

Looks like it will help.

This is the first time I will be handling a VBA file. Where can I learn more about this?

Thanks.
