Civil 3D 2017 - Alignment stationing lengths do not match length of polyline.

I am trying to create an alignment from a series of polylines. I scaled a PDF to actual size in model space but when i create an alignment from the centerline, the stations are spaced along the line at 4' intervals rather than 100'.

I have tried changing my drawing units from inches to feet but this does not change the scale of my alignment.

Try -DWGUNITS and verify that the drawing is in FEET (2)

Try right click on labels>edit alignment labels and look for increment value

My increments are set to 100' modifying this does not seem to fix my issue

Maybe im wrong but i understand that you want labels space 100

yes i would like to show the correct stationing at 100' intervals along my polyline. however the alignment scale seems to be different than the scale of the lines in my drawing.

I seem to have the same issue when I change everything to feet and vice versa to inches.

here is a step by step of what happens when I make an alignment out of a 100' polyline.

the length of the alignment comes out as 1200' (obviously some sort of inches vs feet issue) I just cant seem to pinpoint why the alignment scale does not match the scale of the line.

unfortunately im finding that changing all of these units is only changing the units the station is diplaying and not solving the problem that my alignment length is always 12x the length of the line/polyline used to create it...

I've been messing with all the permutations of units between feature line and drawing settings.

ive tried dimension units, distance units, coordinate units, and different combinations between feature settings and drawing settings. They alter how the lengths are displayed by units but my alignments are always 12 times as long as the geometry i used to create them.

Civil3D only works in Feet or Meters and that's it..... You should start a drawing with a Default Imperial or Metric Template and all settings will be set as they should be. If you don't want all the NCS layers then start the drawing with No Template based on your units.

Your units are set to Architectural in the lower right of the screen.  Change to decimal and you'll see that your line is 1200' long in the properties.

I see, will alignments always operate off of decimal feet?

C3D only works in feet or meters and both are reported in decimals only. How the units in your file got messed in the first place is bewildering. Simply starting with the a default feet or meters template will not cause the issue you described so you must have opened a AutoCAD file that was created by architect and didn't import styles and settings to override all the places that units get set
