I have a shp file of points representing trees. I used an expression in the style editor to draw the drip line. However the labels only show if I choose "place next to feature". If I place on top with 0,0, they don't show.
Any help would be appreciated.

GOOD QUESTION! I'll be asking Autodesk support about that tomorrow. In the meantime, if you add the text as an element in the feature STYLE and stack it below your feature it should work:

Use "place on top with 0,0".
Save layer to .layer-file.
Edit .layer-file with a text Editor:
Change these Option from true to false:
<CheckExclusionRegion>false</CheckExclusionRegion> <AddToExclusionRegion>false</AddToExclusionRegion>
Add .layer-file to your map (e.g. drag&drop).

Thanks, I found this solution earlier but couldn't figure out how to output to xml format.
However, adding as a symbol is a much easier work around.
