Strange lines around object endpoints

Hi,

I'm currently doing plans on Map 3D on top of aerial imagery that we have inserted as an ECW xref.

Recently I've noticed strange lines appearing at the endpoints of objects such as lines and other xrefs/images that are placed on top of the aerial. However, the lines do not appear if the object isn't crossing paths with the aerial.

They go away after zooming in/out or panning.

How do I get rid of these so they don't appear in the first place, and what are they? I have no use for them. I get the idea that they're for aligning objects but I have no need for them.

Please see the attachments for a better description. Thanks for any help.

Connor,

"They go away after zooming in/out or panning."

Sounds like a graphics problem. You could try either turning off Hardware Acceleration or un-checking High Quality Geometry.

Turning off HW acceleration fixes it but I cannot stand the look of everything with it turned off, its terrible! 😞

Turning off high quality rendering doesn't fix it either.

It's strange because I don't have this issue unless I am drawing over the top of an xref aerial and the GPU I'm using is more than capable for AutoCAD (correct me if I'm wrong though..).

Its not like I'm doing 3D work either. See my new attached screenshots for more info.

Hi, Connor,

Can you try sequentially REGENMODE - 1 and REGENAUTO - ON?

But for large files, this can lead to a slowdown.

Hi Alex,

Both options were already turned on

Have you tried the ECW hotfix >>HERE<< ?

Thanks but I'm using Map 3D 2018 so the patch doesn't apply to my version.

Connor,

Have you updated/re-installed your Graphics Driver? Do you have the Latest Service Packs for Map 3D and Vanilla AutoCAD?

have you tried FDO connection of the image or iinsert raster command instead of XREF?
