Sharp line ends when printing

Does anyone know how I can get my lines to be sharper (more square ended) when printing.  They look like long jelly beans (rounded at the ends) when they print.  This gets worse the heavier the lineweight.  I'm currently printing to PDF due to printer communication issues and then print the PDFs.

At the command line type STYLESMANAGER. Now choose the plot style you use, and depending on whether it's a CTB or STB file see the images below for how to change the setting for both of them.
