File Name

Why does my file name always include .dwg at the end?

WHERE can you see this?

In WinExplorer? Then because a human named the file like this in the past.

(you or another person added the ".dwg" part to the filename, where you shouldn't add the extension, so it accepted as part of the filename)

Because that's what type of files AutoCAD creates and edits.

if you mean that in windows explorer ... then you can hide them from your Windows settings and depending on your windows . >> Click <<  if you select to hide the extensions and it's still there =====> that means that you have a fake drawing names .

I don't even know what that means.

@Anonymous If that is not the actual file extension and a part of the name, most likely someone was trying to change the extension of a .bak file and did not have file extensions shown, thus making it a part of the file name.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
