UK Road Marking Line Types

Hi all, this might be another daft newby question so bear with me!

I'm wondering if there is a set of line types for UK white line road markings. Does anyone know if there is and where I can get them from?

Many thanks

Ry

I would highly recommend looking at the following products...

Design Pro Software - Line Design Pro... http://www.designprosoftware.co.uk/Dps_LineDesignPro-Uk.php
Causeway - PDS Line... http://www.causeway.com/content/line-1
Keysoft Solutions... Key Lines... http://keysoftsolutions.com/traffic/products/keylines/

Effectively you could create the linetpes you need but the effort you would need to put in, you may as well just look at an existing solution. Also the above tools have lots of other benefits.

Thanks Duncan,

After a good trawl on the web I came accross PDS and Keysoft, i'll check out Line Design Pro too.

I was hoping there was a linetype library you could access for certain standards such as road markings.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Duncan,
I have tried Keylines and love what it could do! However I was shocked at the licence cost and cannot go down that road just yet as i'm just starting out.
Am I right in thinking I could program a set of line types that I could use as road markings? e.g. a dashed line with 4m dash and a 2m gap etc.
Cheers

Line types do not have specific real-world values for dashes etc.  They are schematic representations, more from the mechanical design spectrum.  They cannot be depended upon to maintain specific spacings or lengths, making them unsuited for real-world applications like road lines, fences, and so on.
