Hi,

Is there a command(LISP), where I can change my XREF to all in 1 colour? Now even after changing my xref all in one colur under layer properties, some layers still appear in  colour....

Hi,

the problem arises when the referenced drawing(s) contain ibjects, that were not created with color = byLayer.

If you do have AutoCAD 2016 or newer you can activate XREFOVERRIDE (>>>details<<<) which means the main drawing uses the referenced content in the same way as the geometry would have been created with color = byLayer (independent of the real setting of the elements).

If you don't have AutoCAD 2016 or newer you have to open the drawings you use as XRef and run command SETBYLAYER (>>>details<<<), this will modify all objects and set the properties to "byLayer".

... if they're all on the same Layer [preferably Layer 0, if you want them to take on the color of the Layer the drawing is Xref'd into], or at least all on Layers of the same color.  If the Xref'd drawing contains multiple Layers with different colors, and the objects are ByLayer in color, they'll still be different colors in the drawing it's Xref'd into [unless you can override that in the newest versions as described].

Depending on what the drawing represents and how it will be used [obviously this will not always be viable for purposes of the drawing on its own], consider making all the objects in it ByBlock in color.  Then you can give it, when Xref'd in, a color either by the color of the Layer you Xref it into, or with a color override, and all parts of it will be the same color.

Hi,

You always have the chance to start the layermanager and assign all referenced layers a color grey.

It's only a question about are the objects colors are set to byLayer or not. It's not the question about having all objects on layer 0 in the referenced drawing (which would be a bad drawing structure at all).
