Importing an excel table.

When I was using AutoCAD 2000, I was able to import Excel spreadsheets as AutoCAD items and the table would be imported, lines and all, into my drawing.  Now that I'm using AutoCAD 2015, it seems that I can only import Excel spreadsheets as OLE objects or as delimited ASCII data.  Is there any way to do in AutoCAD 2015 what I used to do in AutoCAD 2000?

Hello @Anonymous

Try copying the excel table (Cntl "C") and then go to your Autocad "Edit Menu/Paste Special (Text or Unicode Text)".

Hope this helps.

I assume you are copying the excel data you wish to import to the clipboard first.  If so, issue the PASTESPEC command next when you return to the CAD environment, then when the dialogue appears, choose AutoCAD entities from the list and this will generate an AutoCAD table that is linked to the excel file.

Good luck,
